The important thing to keep in mind before discounting an estate sale as a place to purchase jewelry is that many times, as small pieces, the owners simply want to liquidate and minimize their possessions. This is why, very often, it’s not unusual to find a valuable piece that is mixed in with what might be considered costume jewelry. Keeping this in mind it’s important to make sure to look through all the pieces. Even if a piece just seems to be interesting as opposed to valuable, remember, vintage costume jewelry is also valuable.
